Guys,

It is not as bleak as it looks. I downloaded the complete FAA register
last March (over 360,000 aircraft) and found 3,013 Coupes
registered. Several hundred have not returned two triennials and several
hundred are "sales reported" (dating back as much as 20 years). The FAA
online database has another 100 or so that are revoked. One of the
problems with the FAA search engine is that Coupes are listed under 38
different manufacture's numbers (codes). It makes it hard for a
programmer
to get all of them. If you search by 415 you will get few hundred more.

There are at least another 421 overseas (280 still registered). My last
count put the world wide number of registered Coupes at 2,952 (2,670 in
the
US). Many of these are no longer airworthy, and there are surely a
hundred
or more that are not registered but will fly again. I placed the total
number of "real" registrations at about 2,653. I would guess that the
total number of flying Coupes is in the 1,800 to 2,000 range, with maybe
1,200 to 1,500 flown regularly.

To date, I have located some information on 4,019 Coupes including over
1,000 NTSB, FAA, and Canadian accident reports. As for the total number
produced, I have seen several numbers from different sources. My personal

guess is that there were 5,605 serial numbers available of which about 80
where not used for a total production of about 5,525.
