Leslie frames the issue precisely. It's all well and
good to talk about managing risk, the dangerous ride
to the airport, keeping your head screwed on right,
etc., but we're preaching to the choir. I can decide
on what risks I'm going to take. And as Bill Coons
stated, with increased risk comes increased rewards.

BUT ALL OF THAT ONLY APPLIES TO ME! Every time I fly,
my heirs are involuntarily assuming the risk with none
of the rewards. There is no payback to my wife,
elderly parents, siblings (all of whom have assets to
seize) as I merrily enjoy the glory of flight. It
troubles me that I have to place so many loved ones in
risk of financial ruin so I can hop over to the next
airport for a hamburger (or pancake breakfast).
