Lynn,

There's no such thing as converting to an E model, per the FAA. You can
convert to the D because that's spelled out in the type certificate. That
gives you the legal increase in gross weight.

If you can find an FAA person with an IQ above room temperature, you MAY
get a 337 signed off to install a split elevator which, IMHO (and Fred
Weick's), increased safety -- but that does NOT make it an E.

Gaylon; Skyport has the STC to install an O-200 into a 415-D model.
The list price is $129.00 The rest of the parts, not including the O-200
will run you about $600. These include, but are not limited to: electric
fuel pump, engine mounts, fuel pump warning light, circuit breaker, Hobbs
pressure switch, and instrument decals.
If you have a 415-C model, you will most likely have to convert it to a
415-D or E model in order to get approval for the O-200. Best talk to your
IA and FAA representative to determine what they will require.
Regards.
