The float on my Coupe is made of brass. Just a little cylinder with the wire brazed to the top. It's leaking and looks pretty beat up and needs to be replaced. Just called Univair and they don't supply floats for liability reasons (say auto fuel eats the shellac coatings on the cork ones). Do any of you know if the brass ones were a legal replacement and if so where to get one (Univair didn't know and Lee is not at work at Skyport yet)? Also, if I have to go with a cork one how do you keep the cork from sliding off the bottom? The top is held with a small washer that is silver soldered to the wire but I imagine trying to silver solder a washer to the bottom with the cork on the wire would burn the cork too badly. Or maybe they sell an assembly with the cork already on the wire? Thanks. Joa __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
