I had a very vivid illustration, today, of how a little thing can upset the balance of the Ercoupe fuel system. Yesterday, while flying along with wing tanks just about half full (8 gallon ternaplates with 'Rain-proof' cork-type gauges in the caps), both the left tank (half full, remember) and the fuselage tank began to 'blow bubbles' up the gauge tubes. Not solid fuel, but just bubbles, like a kid blowing through his soda straw. No other ill effects, the level remained normal in the fuselage tank. This morning, when I went out to investigate, I checked the cap vents. The right tank vent had taken in a very accurate bug, whose remains blocked the vent up solid. A bit of safety wire pushed the corpse out. Greg ================================================================== TO UNSUBSCRIBE go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm
