I would agree with Bob. There seems no need for change here. My Ercoupe
was successfully operated for 50
years with the gascolator as it is. I see a point in using the extra
support brackets, also in changing the
alum elbow, but relocating to the firewall??
If you do so , you can place the gascolator only below the exhaust . The
way the cooling stream works in our
coupe, this would also be the warmest point of air stream in the engine
compartment. why would I want to
create a risk in an over 50 years proven system???
