Took the wife to Laughlin last weekend and decided to return home via Lake
Havasu City so she could see the London Bridge. Afterward, I landed to
get fuel. Couldn't see any pumps and there were no signs to indicate
where to fuel. Several signs pointed to transient parking, but I wasn't
parking, just wanted fuel. The only indication was a Chevron sign on one
building so I headed for it. Saw a fuel truck at the end of a row of
airplanes so I pulled up next to it and shut down. Asked the boy to top
it off and was curtly told to go inside. A few minutes later, the boy
gave a ticket to the lady behind the counter and I paid for the gas. Just
as I was ready to leave she said, "In the future if you come back again,
you should put the airplane in the Transient Parking area if you want
fuel." I told her there were no signs with such instructions outside and
that I wasn't looking to park, just get fuel. She said, "You could have
called on the unicom for instructions." I told her that I had called on
the radio, but no one answered. She said somebody "back there" should
have answered. (Must have been my fault they didn't)

Is it just me? I think the only mistake a customer can make with a
business, is going to them in the first place. But for some inexplicable
reason, this employee seemed bent on telling me all the things which my
gross stupidity had caused me to do wrong.

BOY! I WON'T MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN!
