It's at Wright Pat AFB in Dayton, Ohio. These days, it fires rubber pellets..often, into the canopies of USAF fighter prototypes. It's nasty. NASA has used these devices to test the potential of high speed objects impacting spacecraft. I have a heavy cube of steel with deep, boiled-out holes that prove that you wouldn't want your spaceship (or Ercoupe) to meet such an object. A flake of paint put a quarter-inch hole in the windshield of one of the shuttles. And..NASA doesn't have trains.
