"why not use the highest possible gasoline designated for the Ercoupe? " I am trying just that: I use Avgas 80 where ever possible. If you translate "highest possible" with most expensive - Avgas 80 is it. Second then is either 100LL or Autogas, depending on philosophy. If you use Autogas and experience engine problems , every mechanic (and FAA guy) will put it first on the Autogas. This is of course bogus. If your engine is healthy, it will run good on anything, even Kerosin as I just learned here.
