To expand on the "technical logistics" topic, we presently have an initial
definition of several demo system configurations and scenarios, and the
goal of this meeting is to refine those definitions and plan how they will
be accomplished (including assigning responsibility for the work to
specific individuals).

We have a target date for systems being ready by the beginning of April, to
allow time for rehearsals before the BUN meeting later in April. We need
to know what we are doing and who is doing it, soon enough to meet that
target.

The present demo suite is planned to include:
SERVERS - 2 or 3, as:
    1) Simple file/print/gateway LAN server, running SAMBA and an outbound

Internet gateway (IP masquerading and firewalling) with inbound email.
    2) More complex application server running SQL and Apache.
    3) (Tentative) Lotus Notes Domino server.

WORKSTATIONS - several, as:
at least one or two Windows clients, maybe one per server? to show
interoperability
with standard M$ apps
Linux desktop workstations, running: StarOffice, WordPerfect, Netscape,
etc.

Details and scenarios need to be fleshed out, especially for the desktops.
One big
question is whether we should have a system showing Windoze apps running
under
WINE or whether this is still not polished enough to impress business users
(I haven't
used it or tracked it to know how slick it's getting to be - anyone?)

My desire is to come away from the meeting with a list of demo systems,
including
complete configuration details and the name of a person who is committed to
having
that system ready and available by 1 April.
