As you will see on Saturday, the college is hardware rich but the
classroom/lab is very small. We had 13 people in there Monday night and it
was getting tight. I don't know if the college will go along with moving
that equipment to a conference room, I haven't seen the conference room, I
hope to on Saturday. I also don't know what the connectivity issues are
for the conference room. I do know the college has 2 T-1s. I think we
need to do the early planning with the idea that we may end up at another
location and may need to lug (as in schlep not linux user group) equipment.
If we allow participants to bring in equipment and we move college
equipment around I see great potential for something to grow feet. That
being said, I am in great favor of doing some installs, I'll be first in
line with my server however we may have to make that a follow up event.

I'm hoping to get a better idea of the precise setup on Saturday, but my
understanding from Rick Petree's original mail offering cooperation from
NHCTC was that they have some classrooms set up with multiple (like ten or
more) systems. I hope so, we're looking like we have a good start on
needing at least that many demo systems! So we may end up with a
conferernce room or auditorium for speakers and presentations and a
classroom or two for demos.
One question that just occured about the idea of an "installfest" sideshow,
would the college have any issue with possibly many outsiders walking in
and
out carrying a variety of PCs? And would we want to take the risk of being
on the hook if the college came up short some equipment within a week or so
either side of our event?
