Hi,

Well, this all depends what kind of people there will be. Business managers
wouldn't be interested much in engineering programs. But if there will be
engineers, there are a few engineering apps. A few, just from civ. eng.
field:
-BrlCad (developed at .mil, and rather for mechanical engineers, and
lately it has support for MesaGl)
- GRASS GIS(TclTk, used to be a mil project, but now it's at some university),
-there is an AutoCad-type program that I don't know the name of,
-there is a FEM prog. in Slink, rather for tutional goals, you will understand
why if you look at the price of a commercial statical-eng. program
-GHAAS is a hydrological prog. being under development at UNH
-Maple (not free, but my university has a uni-wide licence)
-And a finite diff. water flow modeling program for beowulfs with Qt and GL
   (this is my wonderful thesis)
These are just the ones that I found, and only in civ. eng. field. The big
thing is program development, but I don't use all these new GUI designers and
stuff- just pure xemacs and vi. But since you have the source of everything,
you can always find if there is a bug, and you don't have to wait for the new
releases.
Unfortunatelly, I can't offer my help this time since in the best case I am
getting my visa in the middle of March, and there wouldn't be much time until
April 1st.

Ferenc
