Good question, I think any guess we might make about how many will do their own
installs would be nothing but an uneducated guess.
Maybe the installfest/helpfest scheduling could be conditional based on interest
expressed on the sign-in sheets at the BUN. We need to capture contact info with a
good sign-in system and polling interest about an installfest/helpfest would be a good
part of the feedback process. In fact, maybe we should also include the installfest
interest poll on the feedback sheets at the end of the event, in case people decide
they're interested as a result of the BUN. Having it on both the sign-in and the
feedback would allow the really motivated to vote twice, but that's okay! And
scheduling the installfest/helpfest later, as more of a part of the local LUG routine,
would give a good chance to entice the interested audience into LUG membership...
Would it be practical to have the installfest/helpfest as the next regular meeting? Or
does it really require a special event, like a weekend?
BTW, I like the SLUG topic "favorite Linux apps" scheduled for April as fitting very
well with the BUN schedule - is that going to be one of our BUN rehearsals?
