First on the SMP, do a cat /proc/cpuinfo, if you see two cpu's in there
your running SMP.

As for the smbfs, try smbmount //storm/i386 /mntpoint -Uusername

This will mount the share //storm/i386 at /mntpoint, passing along my
username, I'll get prompted for a password
and the mount completes.
