Aha! So I'm not going crazy (or if I am, at least this isn't proof of it!)
I've seen similar problems, only on my home machine. Running KDE, with
GOBS and GOBS of memory (256MB), lots of swap, and a Voodoo3 video card.
I've noticed that the console hangs (IOW the X display) but I can telnet
to it. I suspect the problem is the X server or the window manager. One
thing about it, though, I noticed it only started happening since I
installed my SB Live card...
Ken, didn't you say you had one of those? Maybe there's a bug in the
driver that causes the console to hang... Do you have the drivers
installed?
