This brings up a good question. How does one make a copy of their partition
table (say to floppy) for just such an occasion? I had this happen a while
back, but fortunately, I didn't have anything on the system yet, and I just
re-installed.
This would be a great piece of information to know, even if one does do
regular backups. I'd much rather spend 10 minutes re-storing my partition
table than getting backup tapes from off-site and having a server down for 4
hours while I wait for tapes.

Doing something stupid always costs less (up front)
than doing something intelligent.
A conclusion is simply the place where you got tired of thinking.
If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right!
