According to my wife, the tech writer :) the best you can hope for is to use
Acrobat Exchange to make minor edits to the PDF file itself.
If you need to make extensive edits, then you need to be dealing with the PDF
source file, which may be a Word document, a Frame document, or one of any
other formats where the tools generate PDF as a final product.
