greetings to the list,
i saw ben at the hosstrader show in rochester this weekend and he got my
intrest sparked again in using linux as a desktop OS. i was/am currently using
win2000. ( no comments please :-) ) i just have a few questions.
I installed redhat 6.0 nand then installed helix gnome. everything is working
ok - kind of.
problem 1
in win2k i use eudora pro. on freshmeat there are several GUI mail clients for
gnome, however none of them support pop3 mail! when i try to check my mail it
gives me " Feature not yet implemented". does anyone know of a good pop3 GUI
mail client for gnome? i have tried balsa, gnomail, and eucalyptus. they all
have problems with pop3 mail.
problem 2
ben said something about running the xserver as root. i have always run it as
a user. if i was to run x as root and then connect to it. how would i do that?
anyone know what i'm talking about?
thats all the problems for now....other than the above i really enjoy
linux....i may still have to use win2k for my high end graphics though....just
because all my files are PSD's. thanks for your help!
