Hi,
My group has just taken posession of about a dozen AlphaStation
500's, which currently have Digital Unix installed with unknown
passwords. I'm trying to install Linux on them (and unfortunately
also NT on a few :-( ), but I can't seem to break out of the boot
routine to get to the BIOS or SRM console so I can boot from
another source...I've read a few of the AlphaLinux HOWTO's, but
they all seem to assume that part is easy. Once I can get there
I should be fine...I was a VAX sysadmin for a few years and most
of the HOWTO's looked hauntingly familiar...but any help on the
"easy" part would be appreciated. :-) As I seem not to have
said explicitly, all we got were the actual machines, no docs,
no idea what's been done to them. Oh we also got 8 600's, but
I'm hoping they'll respond similarly to any suggestions that
are made. Thanks for any suggestions you can provide...
