AFAIK, the gnhlug has no distribution-specific mailing lists.

Well, obviously both can be run in console mode. What you should probably be
asking yourself is which would be best to learn linux on (assuming you don't
know that much). I'm not trying to start a distribution-war, but I learned on
Slackware, and I have zero regrets. I never got into RedHat, because it tried
to do too much _for_ you. Granted, I would take this approach nowadays (being
the lazy person I am, which is why I run debian... a program on my system is
just an apt-get away...), but if you really want to learn the ins and outs of
linux, I recommend Slackware. It will teach you how to configure/compile
programs, build your own kernel, setting up printers, editing your /etc/rc*
files, lots of stuff. I recommand Slackware unleashed, and reading from
beginning to end.

Run whatever works for you. Get as many opinions as you can, but ultimately,
youre the one that has to live with the distribution you choose.

I dunno. =P

Good man. May the force be with you.

Not I.
