Sybase considers Linux to be a core platform. See http://www.sybase.com/linux/
for details. I searched the web site for "Linux" and found 73 hits, including
press releases on Sybase's commitment to Linux.

ASE 11.9.2 is free for development environments and ASE 11.0.3.3 is free for both
development and production environments. See http://www.sybase.com/linux/ase/ for
details.

ASE 12.5 for RedHat 6.2 has a Beta program due to start Nov. 28th if anyone is
interested in participating. See
http://www.sybase.com/detail/1,3151,1009595,00.html for details.

Also, there is an evaluation download of SQL Anywhere Studio available.

DISCLAIMER: I am new to Sybase and don't even have any "real" DB experience. (Not
much Linux for that matter either, but enough of my "sad" story.) I don't make
the decisions here at Sybase or get any commission, so please be gentle with the
flaming. I left my asbestos suit at home. :-)
