Hello list,

Mildly interesting article on LinuxToday about how one company (Synopsys)
sees Linux as the big emerging platform for EDA (Electronic Design Automation,
i.e., designing microchips), and that Windows NT has been slow to take hold
and quite possibly won't.

I post this not because it is a nice win for Linux (though it is). I post
it because I distinctly remember a very similar article that appeared maybe a
year or two ago. It had all the "industry experts" and "analysts" very
specifically saying that nobody saw any chance for EDA on Linux, and that NT
was the way to go.

First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you.

  Then you win.

  :-)
