I stand corrected as to a conversation being done in a survey Ben...... :-)
As to the rant, I guess I was trying to get the response done quickly so I
could get back to work, so without the :-) it didn't come across as
semi-jocular.
Ben, we have had this conversation before about Open and Closed
discussions. I was trying with this thread to let people know that we are
going to be collecting these or any suggestions, critiques, etc, so we, as
a group can see, and comment on them and they will be saved for future use,
rather than have people who aren't interested in this thread go to the
filters again.
I am probably more interested in this particular topic than any person
involved in the GNHLUG. As I have stated publically many times, it is very
discouraging to me that we have such a vociferious group as to the merits
of Linux, yet out of a list of hundreds it is the same 40-60 people that
come to meetings whether it is entertaining or technical, social or
political.
Your questions were good and thorough Ben, and I am sure that if people do
respond, they will be helpful. And to Derek, you are correct in your
assessment of the overall time, quality, and content of the meetings, and
yes, we do fall down from time to time in making the newcomers feel welcome.
