You may remember in the '70s that skyjacking was a popular pastime. One of
the methods for spotting skyjackers was to 'profile' them, i.e. there
were/are certain behavior characteristics exhibited by skyjackers. Most of
these characteristics are secret. We don't want to help the bad guys
disguise their intentions. One which is commonly known is that skyjackers
usually show up just before the gate is closed. Paranoia probably. Anyway,
it was noted that at least one of the WTC bombers showed up at the last
minute for his Logan flight. Forget the logistics of getting through
security. Show up late and you will be suspect.
