  2.4.11 fixed a potential security bug in symlink handling.  Unfortunately,
the fix contained a new bug, which led to minor filesystem corruption when
creating a file through a dangling symlink.  (The result was an inode which
was hard to delete.)  2.4.12 fixes that bug.

  Of course, according to rumor, 2.4.12 also broke the parallel port driver.

  It has not been a good week for Linux. :-(
