Hello, all. Just a quick note to say that there's an important vote coming up on a pretty bad bill. Check out the links below.
http://www.mv.com/issues/tz.shtml and http://slashdot.org/yro/02/02/26/0323229.shtml?tid=103 You'll note that the first is from MV Communications, a long-term NH ISP. Bottom line: Charlie Bass and John Sununu both want to deregulate the way that the large telcos deal with the "small guys" (CLECs, in telecom nomenclature, IIRC). While many of us in the Live Free or Die state probably believe in deregulation, it's also apparent that when someone owns infrastructure, the only way to make them play fair is by regulation. I'm sure that there are other supporters of this bill, aside from John and Charlie, but it's clear that we can make our voices felt the most by contacting our own representatives. Being as the vote comes up on Wednesday (tomorrow!), only e-mail, phone, or fax will suffice. Please let them know how you feel about bill HR1542 (The "Tauzin/Dingell" bill). Thanks for your time, -Ken ***************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the text 'unsubscribe gnhlug' in the message body. *****************************************************************
