I have sympathy for those that can't get high speed access. Everytime I visit my mom I feel the pain. I have a cable modem and haven't experienced problems with it. In fact, I've seen coworkers have more problems with their DSL lines (down for a week). I helped a friend set up a firewall with his DSL and noticed he's got less bandwidth and higher latency. I have had outages. Once for almost 2 days. Usually for an hour or less. And there is a small slowdown after 5pm, but not enough to worry about. I think I'm lucky here. I live in a condo & they redid the cable when we had the sewers put in 2 years ago. I think most of my neighbors don't use their computers much. -- ------- Tom Buskey ***************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the text 'unsubscribe gnhlug' in the message body. *****************************************************************
