Well, Red Hat nicely provides the "up2date" utility, which does the same thing, in one less step: Step 1) up2date -u The problem here is that Red Hat Linux 6.2 does not include OpenSSH at all, so it cannot be updated. Upgrading to RHL 7.0 would solve the problem, because it does include OpenSSH, and thus can be automatically updated. The difference is in the way the distributions are managed.
