   So if you want to be a bit lazy, it's acceptable to refer to
   GNU/Linux as "GNU", but not acceptable to refer to GNU/Linux as
   "Linux?"

It would be the first time in history that one refers to a operating
system by the name of a kernel.  One does not call BSD using Mach for
Mach, one calls it BSD.
