Back on the subject of configuration again.
My latest patch (submitted a few minutes ago)
simplifies the configuration of bootstrap.scm
and gnucash.h somewhat. The Makefile/perl script
is still used, but is now invoked in the 'EXTRA-CMDS'
portion of AC_OUTPUT. This means that both files
will be regenerated by config.status.
You can still used make prefix=something without
changing bootstrap.scm.
Anyway, in looking into these things, I noticed
that we have a config variable GNC_CONFIGDIR
which we really aren't using. There is a note
in Makefile.in to the effect that it ends up
being /etc/gnucash and that this is a bad place
to put config files. Why is that? Seems like
a fine place to put config files.
