This is a good idea. In fact, it's probably reasonably high up the
"missing things that are annoying me" list at the moment. If nobody
else does, I'll tackle it reasonably soon (there are a couple of other
little changes I want to make first).

I'm not convinced this is such a good idea. In my experience,
programs almost always default to the directory that they are started
in. Changing this would probably confuse new users.
