I’d also have a visit with my bank branch manager along the lines of “this is a 
small amount and in my favor, but on principle there should be no magic 
changes, no matter for how small, in my balance without a corresponding 
transaction on the statement. This indicates a failure of this bank’s 
accounting controls. What are you going to do to fix it?

LOL -- I once had to carry an adjustment account with a very small amount in it (so I could reconcile) for THREE MONTHS. That's because the bank officer decided that they had no policy in place for  "small error and the account of a 501(c)3" << should he just donate the few cents to us? >> So it had to get onto the agenda of a BoD meeting of the bank. Not to fix this one little error but to set a general policy.
