In my copy of GnC it is called "General Journal". My wife, the
accountant of the family, agrees that the correct terminology is "Journal".
Perhaps I have that terminology wrong... That would make it possible to see all entries,
including the lost transaction, presumably. However, if the OP had entered a transaction
and backdated it to 2012, it wouldn't show in that GnuCash "General Ledger,"
because that particular view defaults to showing the last 30 days.
