In that case another idea that comes to mind is that you can have a zero dollar transaction entry that is memorized with all splits. And then recall it back, and fill in the amount ... you're done. Think of it as a template that might be named like "tmp-XXX" with zero dollars. Then recall it back with characters of "tmp-" for a new entry, delete first four characters and then tab over to fill in the amount (which can be automated for repeated filling-in as well if need be).
For cross platform keystroke inserting, Ueli comes to mind (https://www.xda-developers.com/hands-on-ueli/) but I have not used so not sure what its capabilities. I just stick with native OS keystrokes mapper (or redefine them using OS facility). -----Original Message----- From: R Losey <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, January 10, 2026 12:23 PM To: Sherlock <[email protected]> Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [GNC] Ease of entry AutoHotKey is not part of Windows, right? Actually, I use GnuCash on both Mac and Windows; probably slightly more on Mac than Windows. I like the idea of a manual scheduled transaction, because some have more than 4 entries.
