Indeed you can for specifying a 'Linked File'. To keep those links "portable", I simply set it to just plain root of the drive. But I don’t think this permits specifying a folder.
So this question was pertaining to the other one -- using 'Linked Location' -- rather than 'Linked File' where (I hope!) that setting is a NOP. I wasn't sure if 'Linked Location' would accept any other scheme other than 'http(s)://' but looks like it permits 'file:///' scheme as well, thus makes it fair to link anything rather than limited to just a single file. -----Original Message----- From: Adrien Monteleone <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, January 27, 2026 8:36 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [GNC] Transaction Linked Document - acceptable Linked Location values You can also set the default path under: Preferences > General > Linked Files Regards, Adrien On 1/27/26 2:10 PM, Sherlock wrote: > We may use file URI to reference a folder (or directory). > > See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_URI_scheme > > > For example > > file:///path/to/the/folder _______________________________________________ gnucash-user mailing list [email protected] To update your subscription preferences or to unsubscribe: https://lists.gnucash.org/mailman/listinfo/gnucash-user ----- Please remember to CC this list on all your replies.
