I presume you are running Windows? You didn't actually say what OS/Distro or GnuCash version.
Assuming Windows, see this FAQ: https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/FAQ#Q:_I_cannot_get_any_report_to_display_not_even_the_sample_reports._All_that_displays_is_an_empty_tab. If you're NOT running Windows, please let us know what OS/Distro (and GnuCash Version) you are using.
