I’m not clear as to why the shares bought on 7/26/2026 into VMFXX is showing 
10,837.70. As you noted, it should be 4,000 instead (the sale proceeds from 
gold etf)? If it’s showing 10,837.70, then perhaps you did a duplicate 
transaction and forgot to modify the shares amount?

Can you try this? I don’t use trading accounts, so when I have a situation like 
you described, I do it as follows:

Don’t combine the sell on gold etf and the corresponding buy on VMFXX in a 
single transaction. 

Instead, push the sale proceeds from gold etf into a temporary suspense 
account, say Cash (IRA). 

Then record the buy on VMFXX by sourcing funds from the suspense account.
