Julie, It is puzzling that you always get an error that your file could not be found, since GnuCash automatically opens the last file you had open. Is there something about where you are storing this file that is getting changed between sessions? Is the file on a remote (cloud) drive? Are you moving the file via script?
As for the blank reports, there have been numerous reports for quite some time about compatibility under Linux with Nvidia cards. Given that you've been happily using GnuCash for a while, perhaps you've modified the system to account for this previously. However, recently some users have seen problems again, and have had to resort to new kludges. Not being affected by these, I haven't paid close attention to the solutions, but they have been presented in this list pretty recently. As an aside, you said the system froze when you tried again; perhaps there was some race event occurring that was consuming all the system resources. I don't know; I'm sort of fishing here. David T. P.s. it would be in your interest to send these different problems to the list as separate threads altogether. The question about file persistence is different from the problem about the reports, which is different from the reconciliation problem.
