David,

Thank you, that is informative and useful to know! A little clarifying,
yet still a little confusing. My computer crashed last night so gnucash
was not closed properly by design. for this reason, it did not open
properly today. Again I found and deleted the .lck file. When I opened
the program again, it worked. However, my computer is not prone to
crashing. unless something goes sideways, I always close it properly.
what continues to be confusing a little is that I feel like it opens
properly more often than something goes sideways in the session prior. so,
I will monitor this and expect a better understanding of All Things.

OK, Some Things. Now I am off to look at bug reports and learn even more.

THANKS!

Julie
