Geoff,
In one of my above replies I asked questions/made suggestions on how to
possibly find the phantom pop-up window.
I don't see any of your replies to that.
Did you try any of those?
I gave accurate instructions on how to get the HTML into
Open/Libreoffice, but again, I don't see a reply that you tried that
process. Did you and does it not work? If that is the case, I'd suggest
trying Libreoffice instead of OpenOffice. A plethora of things have been
fixed since Libreoffice forked long ago. Getting an HTML table into a
Calc sheet might be one of them.
Finally, I can't bring up my GnuCash instance at the moment, but I seem
to recall a setting (Windows tab maybe?) where you can specify that
stuff opens in the same window or separate windows. Perhaps toggle that
and see if the MIA pop-up shows up now.
Also, while I haven't tried it in many years, MacOS has a feature to tab
what would otherwise be full screen windows. That does not work well
with GnuCash. If I recall correctly, it interfered with dialog windows.
If you have it turned on, perhaps try turning the feature off to see if
things improve.
Regards,
Adrien

Hmmm.
Let me make it as clear as I can.
The HTML file is fine and I can bring it into Open Office (but not well
rendered for use) and safari and even text edit which renders it as a full page
report similar to the starting point in GnuCash. However that is not my
problem.
Because Numbers (my preferred spreadsheet) does not import html direct, I need
to get it into Numbers via a csv file. I have described what happens on my
machine when I try to export the current register to csv and have searched high
and low on all desktops on both monitors including using the “show all windows”
function but the dialog box that I assume should show up is not there.
The best guess is it is hiding underneath the report tab itself as (as
previously mentioned) the edge of the window flickers when I try to export the
information. Do you need more information on my system to try to replicate it?
Should I do a screen capture video to try to show it?
Updating to the latest version has not cured the problem and I still cannot
export the current register as a csv file.
