When this forum was first set up, in 1997, there were concerns about size of posts, attachments, etc. Today, as the access to the Net has improved in most parts, this is largely not a concern any more. Perhaps the late Dr Teo requested shorter posts for this reason then.
Feel free to post your arguments, even in a single post... even if longer ... Googlegroups allows for messages of upto 25MB to be sent through this network. Those interested in the subject will read it, at whatever length. Also, it could help to take the issue forward faster, and GRNers would get a quicker chance to understand which issues raised by Dr Cristiana Bastos you have concerns about "particularly because at times, they are not supported by data and, at other times, they are to be contradicted by the data."
Re. the article being copyrighted, may I point out that the Goa Research Net is publicly archived on GoogleGroups. Just as a step of precaution, kindly also mark the attachments as copyrighted, so if anyone reads that separate from your posts, they could be aware of the same.

Bastos is the author of a series of publications about “Escola Médico-Cirúrgica
de Goa”. I had indicated on this forum that I have concerns about some of her
statements and conclusions. I will describe these concerns in a series of
posts. These posts, with the title “Notes on the history of Escola Médico-Cirúrgica
de Goa”, will be published here as attachments for the following reason: When I
joined this forum, the founder, Dr. Teotónio de Souza, had indicated to me that
I should keep my posts short. I had intended to write to Dr. Bastos privately
about my concerns in which case the description of my concerns would have been
short, but now that this is in the public arena, some background information on
these issues is also needed. By
necessity, therefore, my posts are a bit long. Also, by publishing as
attachments, those readers who are not interested in this topic may simply
delete the attachments and move on.
Please note that
I only debate with people I respect. This being said, I like to think of this
exchange of ideas, not as a debate, but as a conversation about a topic of
mutual interest with someone for whom I have respect and admiration even though
I disagree with some of her conclusions.
