There should be quality control or some kind of consumer protection agency to denounce these scams. Not sure if there is one in Goa.JM de Figueiredo Sent from my iPhone Great work, Joao! I agree with Rahul about these proliferating international conferences. The official academic world keeps raising qualifications -- degrees, papers published, conferences attended, etc -- for everything, which looks very quality-conscious, but without addressing the many shortfalls and general rottenness of the system. The result, like everywhere else, is all kinds of open fraud and fakery to make the grade, for hefty payment, of course.
Amita Just like predatory journals there are a lot predatory conferences announced on the web these days. They are scams to steal your money and never actually happen. Please beware.
