I guess you have to decide what exactly it is that you
are railing against. Are you railing against casteism,
Hinduism, our ancient Indian heritage or the Hindutva
ideology of some fundamentalist Hindu zealots of
today? Please let me know which one of these things
you consider to be evil.

Nasci says:
Its all of these things; they are surely interlinked and have evolved that way over the centuries. That's why reform and a near "cultural revolution" is required; if the perpetrators don't agree to change willingly.

Nasci says:
Of course not! I'm not quoting you.
I say only that, reform does not have to ape the fundamentalists from any religion or culture. Reform can and must take the straight and just path, in tune with midern thought and aims..

Santosh:
What do you mean by reformation of the Hindu culture?
Would getting rid of casteism suffice? What other
problems are unique to Hindu culture? Do you know that
India has a rich tradition of reformers?

Nasci says:
Yes; Reform has to be continual; until complete reform is achieved. One novel way however would be for the (h) Indu cultural community to adopt "Buddhism" without hesitation; that will in one stroke abolish, casteism, racism amd other idiosyncracies and blasphemy in vogue. The casteism among Indian Christians and Muslims will also disappear!

three kinds of stupidities present among our neighbors
- theocracy, autocracy and communism.

Nasci says:
I don't subscribe to the above. I see democracy and progress in Malaysia and Thailand, and S'pore and Taiwan.
Exceptions are Mayanmar and Sri Lanka; the former 'cause of military rule; the latter 'cause of Hindu Tamils. Like the Islamists elsewhere, the Hindus are making trouble in Sri Lanka. And Nepal; cause of Hiindu monarchy, that fails to see the light of day!

My present culture and that of most Indians I know is
very much in tune with modern times. We want to
eliminate casteism, racism, superstition, belief in
miracles, religious chauvinism, fundamentalism,
revisionism, pseudospiritualism, regionalism,
xenophobia, fatalism, apocalypticism and millenarism.

Nasci says:
The above para is what I like. Santosh, that is what we must strive for. I'm not interested in singing praises about the glorious past, to disguise the present; That is hocus pocus!
