Hi Albert, I tend to agree with you that many people go through the 'motions' of the religion of their indoctrination without really understanding it. This is exactly what the 'God-men' want. Because once you start trying to understand it, it really doesn't make much sense and leaves you wanting more than just to be 'told' how to believe and what you should do to live a good life. All the rest of the dogma of eternal salvation, reincarnation and afterlife are all methods to manipulate pious adherants here on earth.
Once you start investigating other religions, and India is a great place to do that because of the richness of the religious culture, you will find that there is much more to spirituality than attending mass once a week and partaking in the Eucharist. However you will have to separate the wheat from the chaff. I wish more people would open their eyes. Until then, I will continue to talk about religion and what it really means to 'BE GOOD'. The Catholics feel that what we are doing is truly correct and many times I realize the teachings in the Bible are contradicting the teaching of the church. Take simple example. In exodus it is clearly told by God himself that He does not like rivals. That we should not have pictures of God in any form yet in many churches I have seen the picture of Abba Father. Jesus clearly says that I am the way the truth and the life who ever wants to come to my Father should come to me yet we wend our way through other sources. We do not open our hearts to God and we are never taught to open our hearts to God and feel the presence of God. The religion of Jesus (the religion of love) is completely missing, Today while our hearts are full of remorse our lips are used to repeat that what we are taught from our childhood half of which we are not even aware.
