In today's world we do not see Jesus in the life of the catholics at all. We pray into the darkness and cannot see light. While the senior citizens are left to themselves to fend for themselves the younger generation only wants to gather riches .They want the parents' money but not the parents. Look at the number of old people in the old aged homes. These very people once upon a time forgot themselves and sacrificed for their children without any claims. They did not have any dream of the future and never laid their future in the hands of their children but did their best to give their children a happy life. Many times while the children are having a gala time the parents have practically nothing. Once Pedro put his father in the home for the aged. The father did not protest. As Pedro was about to leave the home for the aged the superior came to the room. Pedro's father asked the superior. "Sister what will be the cost of this room ? " Sister superior was surprised at this question and asked Pedro's father as to why he was asking this question. Pedro's father said " sister I want to buy this room for my son. Today he is young and has one son and one daughter who are small but tomorrow these childen might not have enough money to pay for the father's stay at the home and you may not have place for my son. I love my son and before I die I want to see that my son Pedro has a place in this home at least." Pedro was stunned. He did not know what to say. He knew that he too will reach this place one day. Yes his son may not be able to pay for his stay at the home. what will he do then ? He decided to keep the father with him and love him till his end. I would never have allowed my mother to beg like that. Old people eat very little but they like to talk lot. Their heart is very big and it is full of love.
