Dear Brothers and sisters
The Bible is a guide for proper living. The new testament show us how we can
happily live in this world to achieve a place in Heaven. If a person does not
learn to live a happy life on this world as it is very easy to do so, how can
he live happily even in Heaven ? It is pity that we the catholics have never
understood who God is, who Jesus is and who Mary is.God is supreme force and no
man is able to see God unless we die and become a spirit. Mortals do not have
power to see God. Even in the past God was able to communicate with the mortals
in different ways. Moses just saw the burning bush and heard God speaking to
him. Adam and Eve only heard God speaking to them after they committed sin. God
loved the world and so He had to become man inorder to live with the mortals
and so God got transformed into man -Emmanuel - For this he needed the help of
a woman and so He chose Mary. This Mary was a mortal who gave birth to mortal
God.-Emmanuel - Man cannot use the earthly logic to connect God with Jesus.God
has no begining and no ending. He cannot die, He cannot be born and therefore
the mother of God is an insult to God because we are compering a mortal with
Divinity or spirit which is called God who is the creator. A creator cannot be
born to a creation. We are breaking the first commandment when we say each time
"Mother of God'
Read the passage which speaks of Mary. We cannot interpret Bible the way we
want to suit our convenience. The scriptures in the Bible should be revealed to
you by the Holy Spirit and therefore the right way to read the bible is first
pray to the Holy Spirit for power to reveal something that is beyond the
understanding of man. It is something supernatural and no one has right to talk
about what is written in the Bible without the power of God. The first
commandment gives full glory to God alone. We can call only God as our Lord and
adore Him. We can glorify God only. we can praise and worship Him only. There
is no other god before this mighty God.
Jesus was the human form of God. He could work miracles the way he wanted to
but he did not do that. If he raised Lazarus from the dead he did it with God's
power. Read Luke and see. He raised his eyes to heaven and prayed to the
Father.In his life on earth he spoke about His Father. He treated himself asan
ordinary man and that is why he called himself as a son of man. God wanted the
world to know that Jesus was also God. So there was the transfiguration of
Jesus and that took place because God wanted it. So man must know that
everything that happens, happens with the permission of God alone.
Mary was an ordinary girl chosen by God to bring Jesus into the world. She
herself praised God in the Magnificat.- She did not ask any one to make her
God. Jesus never told us that if you pray to Mary it will be conveyed to him.
He could easily have said "This is my mother -you pray to her and it will reach
me- but instead he said that "I and the Father are one- If you want to come to
my Father come to me - " what makes us believe that Mary will save us when she
herself did not commit ? why do you give Mary so many names that sometimes we
do not know which Mary we are praying for ? why can't the church just celebrate
one feast of Mary the Mother of Jesus and learn from her how our life should be
on earth ? her life was the life of concern for others. She loved other human
beings and went out of her way to help them . Are we doing this ? infact many
of us are selfish. We are praying to Mother Mary because we want her to save us
and nothing else. This selfish attitude is not the attitude which Mary lived
with,
