One must work hard to inherit heaven. Many times we the catholics believe that mere becoming catholics and going to church we are saved. Salvation will come to those who have accepted Jesus Christ and who are ready to hold his hand to go to the father. I am the way and the life whoever wants to come to my Father should come to me. we the Roman Catholics have not received this message at all. Instead of using Jesus to reach to the Father we have been using all sorts of unwanted weapons and think that mere feasts of so many saints and so many Marys will take us to the Father. Read Luke "Who is my mother, who is my brothers ? said Jesus, " one who hears the word of God are my mothers and brothers. Today the clergy has nothing with them to give us. They are like the blind leading the blind and so they have put these feasts before us so that we are kept busy with these feasts. These feasts are meangingless. Today mass means standing out and chatting or sitting inside and pay no attention. Today feast means attend mass and invite guests for lunch and booze .Jesus Christ has given us just a simple formula Love God with your whole heart, and love one another as I have loved you. This cassette I have been playing for months together and I do not think the message has entered anyone's heart.The world is the same, people are the same. The crab mentality has never been changed by us. Who is to bring the change ? Our ministers? our burecrats, out so called religious ? or we ourselves? The former cannot do anything .It is the latter who has to take the initiative and bring the change. Our religion needs a change.
