Hello Albert

I am acutely aware this forum has a menagerie of peoples from all over the
world, you and I included, some of these with many faiths, and those with none.
All whom are on this forum for one reason and one reason only, to communicate
with others in relation to GOA & all that involves and revolves around it. Also
to contribute on various aspects of human & social life, from football in
Kuwait (great to read it by the way), to all other human forms of entertainment
(well done to Mr d'Mello for being the No1 Instant Star), and the corrupt face
of politics & local goverment, central goverment & religion (all this in no
particular chronological order).

If you wish to contribute towards only one point of view, then so be it. Some
people are bit more rounded and will (have) tackled various subjects, some are
one-subject posters.

I am not going to stop you or even attempt to ask you to stop from
contributing or posting what you feel is your right under the circumstances
(the circumstance being that there are Catholics in Goa & your post was
referring to how to heal yourself via Jesus, of hearing His voice & finding
that your healing came to pass, as it were by the voices we are now lead to
believe this, and if we are Catholics we are to gawp in awe but if we happen
not to have a religion, a decision some people make and reasoned choice by now
would expect to go see more of this, as curiosity kills the cat it will also
cause a sensation when true...........?).

As for your story regarding "the waiter, the Chef, Manager & the Menu" you
mention, this just spotlights exactly what some of the posters on this forum &
the "general public" would do (as would I), if there were some items on the
menu that a customer feels are the wrong ingredients or the sale of these menu
dishes were not to their taste, nor the ingredients correct for his dish, he
will desist from eating there, those who have very strong feelings about the
food being contaminated or were not proper, would desist from entering the
premises again.

I have no intention of deleting your posts just because I feel they are a bit
on the strong side, a bit hard to swallow as it were. Others may, for instance
you may interpret what I say next in any way you wish, but here is MY mini-list
of peoples who will find your menu unpalatable.

Jewish, Muslim, Vegetarian / Vegan ................ any food not Kosher or
not cooked in a Kosher way (you require TWO kitchens or two separate areas in a
formal Jewish household or in a Kosher restaurant) will be rejected by the
Jewish peoples, in much the same (similar way) any food not Halal is considered
Haram by a practicing Muslim (Sunni or Shi'a) & of course he would not eat Pork
(nor would a Jew) and therefore anywhere that sold Pork on its menu would be
considered Haram (non-Kosher) & he would not take his family there to eat,

Vegetarians MAY sometimes eat their vegetarian food in meat restaurants but
under SILENT protest, but if they are the only vegetarian in the family out for
the day, they will put up with it, but they would prefer to eat with other
vegetarians & discuss issues relating to their food (how nicely the lentils
were prepared, how is the cauliflower florets with the sauce & so on), as would
a meat eater compare his meat dish with his or her companion, after all the
EXPERIENCE of eating out is to also talk about the food during the course of
eating out, at home we also discuss the food at the table.

Vegans on the other hand find meat eating offensive and would prefer not to
eat their food in the company of meat-eaters and certainly would not entertain
it anywhere, not in their house or in a restaurant...............

Having said this, in my personal opinion I think I was only pointing out that
there are different facets & how different we all are, as adults in a
multi-faith (& none) that make us all the same, but different at the same time,
but still acceptable company, as long they refrain from discussing how an
animal is culled for food, or how the dish is prepared, only a Chef's
convention or in a commercial kitchen would this be acceptable but the Chef is
in charge there & what he wishes to discuss is the subject everyone has to
adhere to...............

No use of me to point fingers at any one organised religion or another, nor
condemn them, that is not my raison d'etre, my spiritual outlook is personal &
I try not to preach it, unless asked or provoked into discussion by others,
either here or when we are out.

Anyone who posts here, and this includes me has the right to say as they feel
& you said your bit, it was sufficiently eloquent but biased towards one way
only, please give me the common decency to post my response to this. I am not
denegrating you, just that I had thought I was entitled, as do others to give
my opinion on your posting.

If you take offence then there is nothing I can do about it, except to
reiterate that no harm or hurt was intended, not in that way. It was a
response, and you are surely adult enough to take it on the chin (or shin or
whatever) but if you are bullish about your previous post, then you need to
re-read exactly what you said, and IF you expect "grown up people" to believe
this, then that is your right to do, but when someone disagrees at least have
the decency to accept it or reply with instances or proof etc........ continue
the discussion dont throw your toys out of the pram!.

It is my inalienable right to refute "such nonsense" if I feel that is what
it is. But I had thought if you expected me to believe this, then fine, but I
don't believe it, sorry. You specifically said you were physically and
mentally ill, you heard voices and you thought it to be the Son of God speaking
to you (I assume you meant Jesus Christ), and he basically told to hold his
hand (which I assume you did) and you were well again.

Before this you also said you felt you were a burden to your wife & children
and so on. Well that is what sick people, physically or mentally sick, it does
not matter, do feel when they are ill, but the help they receive from their
individual familly members and neighbours too (dont forget the
neighbours..............), is immeasureable and its done because they love you,
so no need to feel a burden on them.

I am sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear, I have no intention of
running and hiding my face because you feel exonorated by spilling out this
sort of "comfort" to those who have read this sort of thing in the Old
Testament & still feel its not something that would ever happen in 2007.

You may think it does but that is your choice, and you may say it on this
forum as often as you like, its probably a form of penance for you, but
remember that we all have a right to refute any of these cases unless you can
bring some sanity or proof to these allegations of cures without the aid of a
medical practitioner, or a even a herbalist, please?

I know of people who were terribly ill, but were well again, for no APPARENT
reason & no double we "all thanked God" for their safe return to the human
race, by the same measure I know of many who were dreadfully ill & prayed,
cried and screamed in pain and then died.

And lastly, if I were allergic to ingredients in the dishes served in that
restaurant, you can bet your bottom rupiah I would not set foot in that
eaterie, if it makes me sick I would not enter it.

Dear John Monteiro
There are some people in the world who love to hear about God ... When we go
to any restuarant the waiter produces a menu with so many dishes............
while ignoring those which you do not like but that does not mean that the
manager of the restuarant or the chef who......... ? You do not stop
frequenting that eating house just because the menu contains certain dishes
which brings alergy to you....
Albert
