1. Let me start by saying that 'RELIGION' in all forms has been the bane of humanity. More people of the world have been killed and are being killed in the name of God/s.

2. India has adobted SECULARISM. What I understand by this word is that a State Governance will respect all RELIGION/s but will not side or be biased for or against any religion. That means religions and/or religious sentiments must remain a PRIVATE affair of the population and must not interfere with the governance of the state. That also means that the State must move like a 'ton of bricks' when required, to maintain peace, but also has to be vigilant to identify infected sores which could lead to the disturbance of this peace and eliminate these well in time. That means the State must act 'before' and 'after'. Needless to say that if the State acts 'before', it will not need to act 'after'.

3. By the above definition, and in relation to Orissa, if the Christian fundamentalists were actively planning the worst for the Swamiji, and perhaps vice versa, where was the State intelligence? This is 'before'. The Christian fundamentalists succeeded in the plans to eliminate Swamiji. Where was the State? This bis 'after'.

4. It is apparent that the State is in constant connivance with both (or various) destabilising forces with the end result that the State's SECULAR credentials are questioned. When innocent people get burnt, killed, raped, maimed, with properties destroyed left right and center, the State cannot be called SECULAR and the leaders that be who are custodians of the State cannot be the custodians of that SECULAR STATE and therefore must be held acutely and absolutely RESPONSIBLE.

5. If everything that the State wants to achieve in terms of progress is allowed to be frittered away through these silly, mindless - abstract - GOD oriented machinations and skirmishes, then this State must start re-thinking all over again about it's SECULARITY.

6. If we do not want this RELIGIOUS poison to kill us all, without exception, then we need to find the potent antidote for this poison.

7. The antidote has always been around since the setting up of this STATE called INDIA since 1947. The designers of India's Constitution saw to it that it was readily available and around to safe-guard the Nation's march towards progress and the elimination of prejudices. But India's subsequent weak leadership pushed this antidote to the far corners almost making it non-existent. Examples: The Ayodhya conflict and the subsequent demolition of the Babri Masjid. The burning alive of Graham Staines and his two sons. Godhra, Savordem-Curchorem [Goa]. And now Orissa.

8. If this Nation called India does not move in the direction to ' lock' this singular Chernobyl [RELIGIOUS STRIFES] in waiting within the hearts of its respective peoples, within the confines of the four walls of its worship houses, liberating the providentially provided gift of the 'clean atmosphere' from the toxicity of the fumes emanating from these corrosive religious entities, we will need more than the GOD Almight Himself to save this Nation.

And last but not the least
9. There is the urgent need to start a hunt for ' potent leadership' to take hold of this self-destructive Nation which will have what it takes to come out, leaving it's RELIGIOuS SENTIMENTS locked at home and locked within one's heart, take the broom in hand and start SWEEPING this Nation clean of this most dangerous VIRUS.

Subject: [Goanet] Orissa Voilence

Lot of articles have been written on Goanet on violence in Orissa which reflects only one side of it. Most of the post were influenced by biased opinions of anti Hindu journalist and media. The Christian fanatics led by the local Congress MP and other hooligans suspected to be from the local chapter of the World Vision of India were responsible for killing the swami and four other people including a woman and two minors. This in turn led to retaliation by Swami's followers which led to a violent backlash against churches and Christian missionaries in Orissa..............
