Barad: But don't you all think its right time to hang Mohammad Afzal, also known as Afzal Guru, who was convicted of conspiracy in the December 2001 attack on the Indian Parliament and was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of India in 2004. Don't you all think this should be the answer pending Mumbai blast outcome? Why is Congress Government feeding him at the cost of us the tax payers for past 3 years without hanging him? What is the hidden motive of Congress government?
Response: Fortunately we are not living in a banana republic. There is such a thing called due process of law and justice. There are 26 mercy petitions pending before the President, of which Afzal Guru is the 26th. It would be a travesty of justice if someone is picked up out -of-turn just to fulfill the lust of some blood-thirsty citizens who want to use it as a political tool to secure votes. Incidentally, when the BJP was in power, it sat on the mercy petitions for over 6 years. Regards, Marshall
